Flower Care Tips
Care Instructions for Fresh Flowers in the Box:
- Check the floral foam’s moisture daily to ensure it is wet or damp.
- If the floral foam dries out, it may struggle to absorb water again. Keep it consistently damp or moist.
- Carefully remove the lid at the back of the box. Every other day, add 1/2 cup of cold water using a water bottle with a small opening.
- Place the box of flowers away from direct sunlight, heating sources, or cooling vents to maintain their freshness.
- Follow these guidelines for the longevity of your floral arrangement.
- Lastly, please enjoy your beautiful flowers!
Preserved flowers require different care compared to fresh flowers.
- Avoid Water:
Preserved flowers do not require water, so keep them away from any moisture sources.
- Keep Away from Direct Sunlight:
Preserve the colors of the flowers by displaying them away from direct sunlight, as exposure to UV rays can cause them to fade.
- Avoid High Humidity:
High humidity can cause preserved flowers to break down more quickly. Keep them in a dry environment.
- Handle with Care:
Preserved flowers are delicate, so handle them gently to prevent damage.
- Dust Regularly:
Use a soft brush or a hairdryer on a low, cool setting to gently remove dust from the flowers.
- Avoid High Temperatures:
Keep preserved flowers away from sources of heat, as high temperatures can cause them to deteriorate faster.
Caring for Orchids
- Light:
Place the orchid arrangement in a location with bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can damage the orchids.
- Watering:
Water the orchids in the arrangement when the top inch of the potting medium feels dry. Ensure that excess water can drain out of the pot to prevent waterlogging.
- Humidity:
Orchids appreciate humidity, so consider placing a humidity tray filled with water and pebbles near the arrangement or using a humidifier to maintain adequate moisture levels.
- Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 60-80°F (15-27°C) during the day and slightly cooler temperatures at night. Avoid placing the orchids near drafts or heating/cooling vents.
- Air Circulation:
Ensure proper air circulation around the orchid arrangement to prevent the buildup of moisture and discourage the growth of mold or mildew.
- Fertilising:
Use a balanced orchid fertilizer diluted to half strength and fertilize the orchids in the arrangement during the active growing season according to the instructions on the fertilizer label.
- Pruning:
Remove any wilted flowers or yellowing leaves promptly to encourage new growth and maintain the overall health of the orchids.
- Repotting:
If the orchids outgrow the arrangement or the potting medium breaks down, consider repotting them into a suitable orchid mix to provide them with fresh nutrients and growing space.
By following these care tips, you can help ensure that your orchids remain healthy, vibrant, and beautiful for an extended period.
